Running a successful restaurant business demands a particular set of skills, and while you do not need experience in the food industry, it is important to have the ability, passion and determination to lead your business and your team from the front. As a franchisee, you are building your own business – and taking McDonald’s to a whole new level. In 2019, McDonald’s introduced an educational bursary programme to help sustain prospective franchisees during the restaurant training programme, which is currently a minimum of 16 weeks, followed by a business immersion and handover process.
