Q: How do I know if a franchise is right for me?

and the support team? Now get down to the nitty gritty: if you carry out the activity recommended by the franchisor, are you assured of success? Does the franchisor even offer any kind of (conditional) guarantee?

p Ian Christelow

A: Many people can feel overwhelmed during their search for the perfect franchise. Take a step back. Take some time to reflect on whether you can visualise yourself in the business you are considering investing in.

Do you think you’d enjoy the role you plan to take within the company? Are the rewards what you are looking for? Can you see yourself enjoying the time you spend with other franchisees

Get all of the information that you can from the franchisor and then validate what you’ve seen and heard by talking to at least one struggling franchisee, someone with an average performance and another top- performing franchisee in the network. And don’t forget, it pays to join the best – where the bar to be awarded the franchise is set the highest. Follow John D. Rockerfeller’s philosophy: "Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great."

u Domino's Pizza is hiring an additional 5,000 staff following the surge in demand for takeaway meals during the coronavirus crisis. The chain, which reported a 5 per

cent leap in sales over the first half of its financial year covering the full UK lockdown, said its ability to remain open in that time meant more people had an opportunity to join the business. The new jobs, which include chef and

delivery driver roles, are in addition to the 6,000 positions previously announced by Domino's during the pandemic as its franchisees continue to grown the brand, opening more outlets. 
