Food franchise fuels the frontline
u Camile Thai Kitchen franchisee in South London gets stuck in helping out key workers. Camile Thai Kitchen, the healthy Thai
delivery restaurant chain, has been helping NHS staff during the coronavirus pandemic. In London, franchise owner Rakesh Gopalakrishnan in Tooting Bec has been spreading positivity to the frontline staff in his local community providing tasty Thai food to over 400 team members at St George’s Hospital and NHS practices around the area. Rakesh has over 19 years of experience within the hospitality industry and managed the Camile Thai Tooting Bec branch for over a year, before taking it on as a franchise in 2018. With experience working in high-end Thai restaurants, Rakesh is very familiar with the cuisine and was attracted to Camile because of the health-focused, community-oriented nature of the brand. In recent weeks, Rakesh has
gone above and beyond to help his community, reaching out to local frontline staff to provide meals to those working to save lives during this difficult period. This has comprised a total of 50 drops to St George’s Hospital, so far, feeding over 465 staff members.
Driven to serve
u Driving Miss Daisy's ‘Operation Support’ is in full force. Here, Greg Blezard, CEO of Driving Miss Daisy UK, shares an update on the franchise’s commitment to its operations. “Buying into a franchise network is an emotional as well as financial commitment – even more so at a time of a national and international crisis. I believe it is important that anyone
considering buying into a franchise network understands how that network operates and supports each other during such times.
"We ensure vulnerable clients are looked after, their shopping is done and prescriptions are fulfilled"

We ensure that vulnerable clients are looked after, such as, their shopping is done, and prescriptions fulfilled. We check on clients to combat
loneliness and ensure that secondary medical problems such as thrombosis do not become an issue, by making sure clients exercise regularly no matter their age or physical condition.
The team in our client service centre call clients regularly and arrange video calls, where possible, to chat and ensure they feel connected.
Our research and development and medical teams are working on new interactive services for clients to use, to improve their physical and mental wellbeing throughout this period and into the future.
None of this could happen if the UK
Driving Miss Daisy family of franchisees and colleagues didn’t work as a team, sharing experience and ideas, ensuring that all our clients, across the country, are supported to the best of our abilities.”
