New for 2026 in Scotland, the Community Pharmacy Service Award recognises the dedicated individuals within pharmacy teams who have given more than 25 years of service to community pharmacy.
Open to nominations from pharmacy owners and managers, this category honours loyalty, consistency and the often unsung contribution of those whose careers have been defined by long term commitment to patient care and community health.
Continuity matters in healthcare. Individuals who dedicate more than 25 years to community pharmacy develop trusted relationships, deep professional expertise and a strong understanding of the evolving needs of the populations they serve.
This service does not need to have been spent in one pharmacy; rather, the award recognises sustained contribution to the profession and to local communities over time.
Judges will look for evidence of professionalism, resilience and meaningful impact, recognising how long serving colleagues help shape pharmacy culture, mentor future generations and strengthen community trust. The award is open to all members of the pharmacy
team, celebrating the contribution of those whose experience and dedication underpin safe, effective and compassionate care.
Strong nominations will highlight individuals who have supported generations of patients, adapted to major changes in pharmacy practice and maintained high standards of service through periods of transformation across the sector.
This category acknowledges that the strength of community pharmacy lies not only in innovation, but also in experience and stability built over decades.
Long serving team members often provide reassurance to patients, continuity during busy periods and guidance to newer colleagues. Their contribution may not always be high
profile, but it is fundamental to the resilience of pharmacy services. Introducing this category for 2026 recognises the people whose dedication has sustained community pharmacy through decades of change.
By formally celebrating long service, the award ensures these contributions are visible and valued, acknowledging the knowledge, relationships and professionalism built over a lifetime in practice.
