rivals Lotte and Gebr. Heinemann had lodged bids to contest the re- tendered liquor and tobacco contract at Singapore Changi Airport due to be vacated by long-time incumbent DFS Group. Having originally been expected to

link Shilla’s WeChat and WeChatPay accounts to the blog site, Kim comments: “As Tipping is currently only available for Koreans, it is difficult to link to WeChat. “However, we are planning to

participate in a new tender, launched in June, for the 18-store six-year concession covering 8,000sq m of retail space across all four terminals in the hope perhaps of securing more favourable terms, DFS will no longer operate at another key Asian hub. It exited its L&T contract and lost
out to Shilla for P&C at HKIA two years ago. DFS had initially agreed a two-year
contract extension in December, which was due to begin in April 2020. However, it has instead opted to extend its current tenancy by two months until June 2020. Following confirmation of Shilla’s

Heinemann, DFS Group, Lotte, WHSmith, Duty Free Americas, Ever Rich Duty Free, Shinsegae Duty Free, Dubai Duty Free and CDFG/Sunrise sure to be interested in submitting bids. While not confirmed at this stage,
it would be surprising if Shilla chose not to throw its hat into the bidding mix. When asked directly about the situation, Kim merely disclosed that Shilla ‘is actively evaluating options’. Serious challengers for the Changi
