PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT A NATURAL HIGH
Frédéric Guintrand is a producer of natural wine in Vacqueyras, Vaucluse. Domaine Les Cardelines, located between the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux, has been in the family for several generations. “I’m passionate about my terroir,” he says. “I practise natural, ancestral viticulture on over nine hectares of vines.” This means harvesting the grapes, largely Grenache, by hand. The family passion for wine runs deep. “My father started selling bottled wine to private customers in the 70s. Before that, my grandfather produced exclusively for wine merchants [négociants or brokers].” So too does a commitment to production methods respectful of nature. “My parents joined one of the only associations claiming an organic approach respectful of all. For my part, I’d like to follow in their
footsteps and perpetuate our tradition with my own vision of wine.” Buy Frédéric’s AOC Vacqueyras, Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Ventoux wines online at
