THE GUIDE REMEMBRANCE 2023
THE SIR JOHN MONASH CENTRE A Unique and Moving Experience
The Australian Remembrance Trail along the Western Front links the most significant sites along the 200km trail from Ieper (Ypres) on the Channel coast in Belgium to Bellenglise in northern France. It includes battlefields, cemeteries, memorials and museums – all sharing their own experiences of the First World War.
At the hub of the Australian Remembrance Trail is the Sir John Monash Centre. Using state of the art technology, it tells the full story of Australians on the Western Front battlefields of the First
World War bringing the experiences of ordinary Australians in extraordinary circumstances to life like never before.
Visiting these sites, where 75 percent of Australia’s First World War fallen now rest, is an emotional and humbling experience
• The Sir John Monash Centre is located only 90 mins drive from Paris and from Lille, east of Amiens and halfway between Villers-Bretonneux, Fouilloy and Corbie.
• It is open every day from 10am to 5pm and admission is free of charge.
• Visitors are advised to bring headphones or earphones and have their mobile devices fully charged. • Group bookings are essential and individual bookings are encouraged
