Exit Plan/Exit Review
SUGGESTED ABLE BODIED PASSENGER (ABP) BRIEFING (DITCHING)
DOOR
“As soon as the aircraft comes to a complete and final stop in the water I want to you stand up and block the Main Cabin Door. Stand here and cross your arms and ensure no one comes forward and opens the Main Cabin Door. Stay here until the majority of passengers have exited the aircraft and boarded the life raft.”
Repeat this back to me OVER WING EXIT
“You will only do this by yourself if I am incapacitated or I command you to do it, otherwise we will work together as a team. Before you do anything I want you to look out this window to make sure there isn’t anything dangerous outside like fire or obstruction. If there is danger then I want you to have someone block the exit and use another exit to launch the life raft.”
Repeat back to me
If the WINDOW exit is safe I want you to get the life raft out. It is located _____________. Find the mooring line, which will be located under a flap on the end of the life raft. Attach the clip on the mooring line to the buckle end of the seatbelt closest to the overwing exit. Then, open the over wing exit and place it out of the way, launch the life raft and inflate by pulling on the mooring line.
Once the life raft is inflated, call the passengers to you and have them exit out the window LEG, BODY, LEG or at the credenza “SIT HERE, LEGS OUT, ROLL OVER, PUSH OUT”. Once outside instruct them to inflate their life vests and get into the raft.”
