AIRCARE FACTS TRAINING RECOMMENDED 3RD CREWMEMBER SEAT ASSIGNMENT
If there is no specific cabin jumpseat on your aircraft, Aircare FACTS Training recommends that the 3rd crewmember is always seated in the most forward aft facing seat aircraft left (main cabin door side). This seat position ensures they are always positioned at the “best seat in the house” during all normal flight operations and more importantly for all unplanned and planned emergency situations.
This specific cabin seat assignment allows the ability to: • have good cabin to flight crew verbal and visual communications • be closed to main cabin door exit • access the conditions at the main cabin door using cabin window next to seat • upright brace position (regardless if shoulder harness or no shoulder harness • have strong and direct cabin crew to passenger commands • to access the entire cabin and visual assessment of entire cabin • verbal communication and visual vantage point for all ABP’s (Able Bodied Passengers)
