W220 FdA ILLUSTRATION

2 YEARS, FULL-TIME 3 YEARS, PART-TIME

The most engaging and memorable illustrations come from people with a bold, clear approach. Study illustration with us and you’ll learn how to create images that are different to everyone else’s. We don’t have a ‘house style’ – we’ll actively encourage you to discover and develop your own illustrative voice.

This voice will help you attract the attention of commissioning agents and publishers, and find work doing what you love.

Illustration is a visually dynamic means of communication and demands imaginative, creative, versatile students willing to develop their own voice. This course aims to help you develop the skills and ideas necessary for the evolving world of contemporary illustrative practice.

We have busy, well-equipped studios that offer an energetic atmosphere and a friendly environment. Study includes practical and theoretical work embracing individual and collaborative activities.

PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion, students may be able to progress to the third year of the BA (Hons) Illustration at the University of Plymouth.1 You may also be able to progress to the part-time BA Professional Development (Creative Industries) award delivered at Petroc.1 This award is held one day per week for two years enabling you to undertake your practice whilst completing your degree.
