ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION IN ART AND DESIGN
FTB041 1 YEAR, FULL-TIME (3 DAYS PER WEEK)
On this programme, you will be encouraged to explore new concepts and ideas, and a variety of materials and techniques will be offered to enhance your artistic toolbox. You will need to make yourself aware of contemporary trends in all areas of the arts, literature, film, theatre, music and the broadcast media. You will also explore the historical contexts out of which the contemporary arts have developed.
PROGRESSION
Students often progress to creative degrees at Petroc and also apply to universities elsewhere in the country. In the past, our students have successfully applied to Bath, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton. Career opportunities include illustrator, art curator and graphic designer.
ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION IN HUMANITIES, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL WORK

On this programme you will study three mandatory subjects: Literary Studies, Sociology and Social & Political History. You can expect to cover modules such as The Appreciation of Poetry, Poverty & Health, The Foundation of the Welfare State and Business in the 20th Century.
PROGRESSION
The Education and Social Work sector is a hugely rewarding and exciting field to work in - it is a diverse area and holds multiple career pathways for your future. Students develop skills and knowledge which are applicable to a range of occupations. This Diploma leads to a variety of degree courses in, for example, teaching, archaeology, anthropology, English, journalism, history, sociology, social work and criminology.
ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION IN BUSINESS
FTB317 1 YEAR, FULL-TIME (3 DAYS PER WEEK)
On this programme you will choose three of the following subjects: Business Studies, Law, ICT, Mathematics and Psychology. There will be a variety of teaching methods used throughout the course, including individual practical work, small group exercises, online research, group presentations, whole-class teaching and peer assessment.
PROGRESSION
Business qualifications are very attractive to employers. This broad programme enables progression onto a wide range of careers and degrees, including administration, management, finance, marketing and HR.
