Are you interested in becoming a computer specialist? In this flexible course, you will gain a solid understanding of many aspects of computing and learn how to program, interconnect and configure computers, as well as how to produce applications that look attractive and original as well as being functional.
You will study a range of modules, including Developing Graduate Skills, Business Enterprise, Website Design and Development, and Systems Analysis. A distinctive feature of the course is that it is based on Agile principles – current industry ‘best practice’ project management theory.
You will be assessed in a variety of ways: there are written assignments, in-class tests, examinations, individual and group presentations and research projects.
PROGRESSION
On successful completion of the course, students may be able to progress to the third year of the BSc (Hons) Computing at the University of Plymouth.1

FdA CONTEMPORARY MUSICIANSHIP

This exciting and dynamic course will develop your practical skills and knowledge as a musician. You will be taught to enhance and support these skills in a broader context including organising, managing, recording and presenting your own music, and marketing it using varied methods. The programme has close links with local and national events and music management companies, giving you the best chance at getting your foot in the door of the music industry.
You will study a wide range of modules, including Styles and Techniques, Professional Musicianship, and Artist Development.
Stage 1 introduces professional and developmental skills to enable you to progress your ability as a musician, develop your knowledge of music theory, the music business, performance techniques, and music production skills.
Stage 2 will develop the skills you learnt in Stage 1 by enabling you to develop as an entrepreneurial musician, progressing skills in areas such as events management, on stage performance, artist development, professional practice, and composition.
You will have access to an 800-capacity live music and arts venue, individual workstations, state-of-the-art recording studios, and rehearsal booths.
PROGRESSION
Students who successfully pass their Foundation Degree may be able to progress to Stage 3 of the BA (Hons) Music at the University of Plymouth.1 They must do this within three years.
