You can imagine why a stroll here was a must each morning. Inland, a tropical rainforest in the Grand Etang National Park is home to an abundance of stunning waterfalls and hot springs. The vegetation here plays home to a variety of animals, and you might be lucky enough to see the famous mona monkey. Situated high in the mountains, the terrain also provides a great opportunity for adventurous types who enjoy hiking or trekking. Sustainability is of great importance here, and when visiting the national park you’re invited to plant a tree as part of a wider voluntourism programme. It feels good to leave a positive footprint on the destination. Now, as I sit at home tapping away on my laptop, my mind drifts back to the underwater sculpture park. I’m pining for a slice of Grenadian paradise again . . . and maybe a rum punch or two.
