7P nes R sort Ibiza
Pinei s Resort Ibiza Sant Josep de sa Talaia, Ibiza
LOCATION: On Ibiza’s west coast hidden among a pine forest. The hotel is perfectly placed on a clifftop with views of the neighbouring rocky island of Es Vedrà, providing an epic sunset backdrop. Ibiza Town is roughly a 20-minute drive away, while it takes around half an hour to get to the airport.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: This sprawling property feels more like a village than a hotel, with lots of individual whitewashed suites and accommodation blocks dotted along the clifftop. Ü>Ã > liÌÌli VonvÕÃi` >Ì wÀÃÌ >Ã ÃiÛiÀ>l ÀiÃi`inÌi>l «Ào«iÀÌiiÃ
are interspersed among the resort, but they work together in harmony, and it doesn’t have any impact on clients. The staff are exceptional and eager to please. Families are fawned over, with the staff making a fuss of younger guests.
THE FACTS: The property has 186 suites across 17 different categories. The suites are spread across The Ibicenco Village, The Laguna and The Cliff. The Laguna is set up with families in mind. It’s home to a kid-friendly pool and the kids’ club. My suite had a small kitchenette, separate living space and a big terrace. The bathroom, however, was a little on the snug side, as was the bedroom. The hotel has three restaurants and three bars. The Cone Club serves breakfast, but is the place to be for sunset tapas, cocktails and a Mediterranean-inspired `inniÀ° /hi 6iiÜ ÃiÀÛià Àiwni` }>ÃÌÀonomiV `iÃhiÃ] Ühili Pershing Yacht Club's dishes would be at home in any high-end Japanese izakaya° /hi hoÌil½Ã inwniÌÞ «ool ià ÜhiÀi }ÕiÃÌà head for an Instagram-worthy photo. It’s only open to over-12s.
Younger children should stick to The Laguna pool. At the latter ÞoÕ½ll wn` > voo` ÌÀÕVk ÃiÀÛin} /iÝ- iÝ Vl>ÃÃiVÃ voÀ lÕnVh° /hi Pure Seven Spa is impressive. From massages and facials to full- moon yoga classes and weight-loss retreats, there’s plenty of reasons clients will head to this peaceful haven. The hotel has two Pershing Yachts and booking in advance is recommended.
IDEAL FOR: Families will feel right at home here. I travelled during the pandemic and encountered several families who had booked for the full six weeks summer holiday, knowing their kids would be entertained at all times!
EXPLORE: Beach-hopping is a must in Ibiza with so many within easy reach. The closest beach to 7Pines is the tiny rocky cove of Cala Codolar, which is a couple of hundred metres away, however Cala Comte beach is the real draw. Arguably one of Ibiza’s best, it is a 15-minute walk away. Encourage clients to hire a car, the smaller the better, as some of the roads leading to the island's best beaches and coves are extremely narrow!
WOW: The kids’ club is very impressive with a focus on sustainability and environmental protection, aiming to educate children at an early age.
BOOK IT: A night at 7Pines Resort Ibiza starts from €300.
