Explora Journeys dishes up dining venues on first ship
Explora Journeys, the new luxury cruise brand from MSC Group, has unveiled details of the food and beverage offering on board maiden vessel Explora I. The ship will make its inaugural journey in May 2023 and will feature six
restaurants and 12 bars and lounges, eight of which will be outside. Restaurants will include Anthology, where global guest chefs will curate menus
showcasing the ship’s journey and its destinations, including unusual wine pairings. Sakura will offer pan-Asian cuisine, celebrating Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and
Malaysian cuisine alongside Asian-influenced beverages, and with a sake sommelier. European steakhouse Marble & Co Grill will serve sustainably farmed beef from an
in-house dry ager. The flavours of Italy, Spain, Greece and France will be on offer at Med Yacht Club. All-day dining venue Emporium Marketplace will have 18 cooking stations offering cuisine including sushi, fresh seafood, a daily rotisserie, pasta cooked to order, freshly baked pizza and sandwiches. The final restaurant is Fil Rouge (pictured), an “intimate” venue serving French-inspired international dishes and desserts, together with a wine selection showcasing the best of Old and New World vineyards. A chef’s kitchen experience in an oceanfront private kitchen will be able to host 12 guests, while other venues will include a Malt Whiskey Bar, a Gelateria & Creperie, European-inspired Crema Café and Astern Lounge, the “social hub” of the ship. Explora Journeys will offer unlimited beverages, fine wines and premium spirits, including an in-suite minibar. Speciality coffees, teas and soft drinks will be available at any time. Guests wishing to elevate their experience or celebrate a special occasion can opt in for an “ultra-exquisite” selection of wines, spirits and liqueurs for an extra fee.
