This test assesses muscular endurance of the lower extremity when performing repetitions of a squat and stand movement. This test is only suitable for individuals who demonstrate proper form when performing a squat movement. It can be used to effectively gauge relative improvements in a client’s lower-extremity muscular endurance.
Contraindications
While this test mimics a primary movement that most individuals perform on a daily basis, it may not be suitable for: • A deconditioned or frail client with lower-extremity weakness • A client with balance concerns • A client with orthopedic issues, especially in the knees • A client who fails to demonstrate proper squatting technique
