Gemma Burns has joined the Kudos team as customer service manager. She brings many years of customer facing experience to the position from a variety of different industries. Burns said of her appointment: “I was looking for a role that utilised my sales and service skills, and the customer services manager position at Kudos suits me perfectly. It’s an exciting time to join the business and we have many exciting products launched. I have had some fantastic support since I joined.” Head of finance David Jones said: “Gemma has had a really positive impact on the team at Kudos.”


NOVY |


FRANCIS GISTELINCK Novy has promoted former commercial director Francis Gistelinck to the role of global CEO. Gistelinck started his career at Novy in 2016 and takes over from Carlos Wanzeele, who held the position for eight years. Gistelinck worked with Wanzeele to develop the brand’s global expansion plans, which included starting the UK subsidiary in 2017 and helping it double its turnover from €45 million to more than €100m (£87m). Gistelinck will now focus on growing the brand and developing new products while building up a strategy for Novy’s distribution and operations.

INSINKERATOR | AMBER SHEPPARD Amber Sheppard has been appointed as key account manager for Insinkerator and will be responsible for the South-West of England and the West Midlands. She will be working with kitchen retailers and merchants in these areas to drive business. Sheppard comes to the brand from Swift, where she was area sales manager for the past three years. She is familiar with the market and comes in with a wealth of knowledge. She said: “My main goals at Insinkerator are to maintain long-standing relationships with our valued retail partners and merchants.”

MERLYN | RHYS HIGGINS


Rhys Higgins has been appointed as the new regional sales manager for Yorkshire and the East Midlands for Merlyn. His appointment brings the Merlyn sales force to 18, and Higgins will support and be responsible for Merlyn’s customers and business development across his region. David Brunt, northern sales director for Merlyn, said: “Rhys brings with him a wealth of industry experience from brands including City Plumbing Supplies and BWT, making him a valuable addition to our team and our customers. We now have an even stronger team.”

DURAVIT UK | GARY MATTHEWS


Duravit UK has appointed Gary Matthews to the newly-created position of sales director. He will work with retail showrooms to bring new products to market and develop the existing product portfolio. Matthews has experience in the bathroom industry and with top brands like Grohe, Multi Panel and Ideal Standard. Martin Carroll, managing director of Duravit UK, said: “As part of Duravit UK’s business expansion and investment into the sales structure, I am absolutely delighted that Gary will be joining us and bringing his extensive market experience to Duravit.”


ABODE | GRAEME BLYTHE


Abode has promoted Graeme Blythe to th position of national contracts manager after previously being an area sales manager for London and the South-East of England for six years. The new role will be mostly focused on the contracts and specification market. He will be working with Abode’s contracts division to grow and innovate. Blythe has specialised in kitchen and bathrooms products for 35 years. He is said to bring to the role a unique understanding and perspective to identify new opportunities for the brand that will help drive its performance.
