INSTALLER COMMENTS


This was particularly intricate to install, mainly because of the number of exact details that had to be executed. Once the main building work was carried out, the designer was then able to measure these elements and build the furniture to suit. We needed to measure the exact ceiling height, in order to ensure a snug fit from floor to ceiling with a neat shadow gap. We also had to work around the new window position to fit the bench and open shelving around it. What made that particularly hard was that the floor ran off-plumb from one end of the room to the other, so I had to ensure that I fitted and maintained level cabinetry all around the window and tall side. This was the first time I’d fitted a pocket door system. In order to


make the fitting easier, Archispek had pre-drilled all the holes for the mechanisms on the gables of the cabinets. They also supplied all panels oversized, so I could scribe them to the wall, which was great. All round a good fitting process with rigid-built cabinetry that made it all easier to work with from the get-go.
