Matt Turton started Bold Kitchens five years ago with his wife Tracey


“Symphony is good value for money with the support, which is what you need, with a level of exclusivity – a lot of German brands are widely available these days.” Turton says his average kitchen price is £14,000, but he has done jobs ranging from £9,000 to £45,000. Looking back, he recounts how he came to go it alone when, while working for the KBBG, his father passed away suddenly in December 2017 and he took some time out.


Time off


“It floored me,” he recalls, “and Der Kreis told me to take time off. After about six weeks, I said to Bill [Miller, UK managing director] that I couldn’t go back to doing 40,000 miles a year and so I took six months out.” And after he returned from that milestone visit to Nobilia in Germany, he found the former grocery store on George Street in South Hiendley and, with his wife Tracey, decided to take the plunge and opened Bold Kitchens in 2018. They named it after their four children – Ben, Oliver, Luke and Dan. Turton recalls that one of his first jobs was in Truro, Cornwall, which is more than 350 miles from his West Yorkshire base. “A client in Wakefield said he was involved with an architect, who had designed seven executive apartments in Truro and he asked what I could
