Awareness is also growing through webinars and congresses, with other hospitals expressing interest too. Meanwhile, the partnership with BPR Medical, which manufactures the Ultraflow demand valve system with built-in gas scavenging system, will help integrate the technology.


The model implemented in Sweden and other parts of Scandinavia over the last decade and a half is testament to the benefits of reducing nitrous oxide emissions for both healthcare professionals and the environment. As momentum continues to grow, the Scandinavian experience will prove a valuable lesson.

Jannik Jensen is International sales manager at Medclair. programmes for patients and staff in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. He has participated in global advisory boards, and held several international symposiums with leading nitrous oxide users. He has represented Medclair since March 2021, working with healthcare systems around the world to reduce their carbon footprint from supporting nitrous oxide programmes.
