‘Refreshed’ vinyl flooring’s ‘beautifully balanced designs’

Forbo Flooring Systems has launched the ‘second generation’ of its premium homogeneous vinyl sheet collection, Sphera Energetic.

The range now comprises four ‘design families’, each ‘offering an array of beautifully balanced designs to help architects and specifiers create fresh, contemporary interiors, while still retaining its exceptional durability properties’. Developed by Forbo’s in-house European design team, the four design families are: Uni, Vivid, Shimmer, and Confetti. Uni is ‘a compendium of 20

trending colours, which feature transparent chips throughout the design to create depth’, while the bolder Vivid design is available in 12 vibrant shades, comprising colourful chips from the Uni design family – making it easy to seamlessly combine the two together. Shimmer and Confetti are two brand new designs: Shimmer has a modern terrazzo aesthetic thanks to its angular chips, and – as the name suggests – Confetti features a mixture of coloured chips from the entire range, ‘providing a playful, random, confetti look’. Forbo said: “The chips throughout each design add a new dimension to homogeneous vinyl, while also helping to effectively hide dirt in heavy footfall areas. The entire range’s colour palette offers high Light Reflectance Value (LRV) ratings. Although the designs have been refreshed, Sphera Energetic still retains its impeccable durability characteristics.”

Laboratory water dispenser launched

Veolia Water Technologies UK (VWT UK) says its new PURELAB water dispenser for use with selected ELGA laboratory VWT UK Type I and 2 laboratory water purification systems is ‘ideal for those operating within busy laboratories’.

It has a built-in monitoring sensor, which measures water quality as close as 1.2 m from the point of dispense. In addition, many of the product models have the ability to recirculate water within the water purification technologies every 10 minutes to prevent biofilm growth and ensure a constant flow of high quality

water. The dispenser screens also have water protection.

VWT UK said: “A ‘plug and play’ solution, the PURELAB dispenser is easy to use and install, weighing only 4.5 kg, and has a smaller footprint than alternative systems, improving ease of handling and space efficiency. Bench- mounted, the system is also height-adjustable, and includes a rotating arm. With controlled dispensing drop by drop, it has a volume dispense range of 100 mL or more, which can be increased by 50 mL increments. Up to four dispensers can be connected to a single water purifier.”

A ‘natural fit’ for clinical sales team

Bender UK has appointed Michael Goosey as Clinical Sales manager for the Midlands and the South East of England.

An experienced healthcare

professional with 25 years’ experience, he began his career as healthcare service engineer with Siemens Medical, before working for a number of other healthcare businesses. Operating from his Leicestershire home, he will support sales and clinical trials of Bender and Merivaara equipment UK-wide, and provide expert advice and guidance on the specification and purchase of turnkey theatre solutions and clinical equipment, including LED operating lights, pendants, and surgical tables. He explained: “Bender UK was well known to me as a leading healthcare supplier, and I have followed its impressive growth and strong partnership with Merivaara, and the introduction of leading clinical products, which have made a big impact on the UK market. As a former service engineer, I was also familiar with Bender’s medical IT power systems, and the work it has done to raise the bar in critical power provision, so I am delighted to now be part of the organisation.”

Bender UK MD, Gareth Brunton, added: “I have known Michael for a number of years, and with his technical background, experience, and market knowledge, he is a natural fit for the clinical sales team.”
