We expanded the Trusts current ward facilities to deliver by designing a three-storey building that matched up with the existing hospital. In addition, we were also able to deliver the original budget, to allow for future expansion which used as a Nightingale Hospital for the area.
Working alongside a dedicated architectural team, the design was co-ordinated with the off-site structure and M&E designers to limit on-site works. This bespoke solution of 147 modules was tailored to meet the exact needs of the Trust and end-users and ensured all single rooms and bathrooms were contained within individual units. Through early stakeholder engagement and staged design, we were able to maximise cost savings, achieving a 12-month reduction in overall programme, and 50% saving on prelims worth approximately £1m. Speed of build was also key.
