Water filtration solutions for endoscope reprocessing
Pall Medical points out that every building has a unique water system, ‘and therefore a unique mix of requirements regarding contamination control’. It said: “Filtration removes and retains contaminants from the water system that may adversely affect users and equipment.
“We offer a broad range of filter systems – from point-of-entry (POE) to point-of-use (POU), and for specialised water systems, such as feedwater for automated endoscope reprocessing. “Water quality for use in reprocessing of endoscopes is required to be of a high
standard, set out within national and international guidelines. Endoscope washer-disinfector (EWD) machines are the final stage cleaning equipment used to decontaminate scopes before re-use on patients. It is thus imperative that final rinse and residual water are free from microorganisms and pathogens
that may be present in a water distribution system. We can provide tailored filtration solutions for our customers based around particular application parameters and performance needs.”
Digitising the building lifecycle
Schneider Electric says it is ‘digitising the building lifecycle – from design and build, to operate and maintain’.
It explained: “Our energy and building automation innovations give organisations an array of offers to create sustainable and resilient buildings, whether new or existing. Enabling peak levels of efficiency, data is captured and analysed to deliver better experiences for building users. Our healthcare solutions bring together a variety of different operational systems – from HVAC, to
electrical and access control systems, integrating informational systems like nurse call, real-time location systems, and clinical systems. Leveraging the data across these systems, and in coordination with our ecosystem of partners, EcoStruxure for Healthcare is a future-ready, integrated, interoperable platform that drives better outcomes across patient care, resiliency, efficiency, and sustainability.”
Schneider Electric says that, as well as having a physical and virtual exhibition presence, its healthcare solutions architects and technology experts will deliver three ‘innovation talks’, alongside industry guests, during Healthcare Estates 2021: n The roadmap to a Net Zero Carbon hospital.
n How to optimise a hospital’s maintenance and operations. n The digital hospital experience.
Creating ‘the ultimate healing environment’
The architecture and planning of a hospital are key to its long-term functionality and successful patient care, ‘forming the basis for optimal hospital processes, and in turn minimising hospital personnel’s workload’. So says Dräger Medical, which, having supported workplace design in acute care for over 50 years, and with ‘expertise in complex processes’, works with customers to deliver ‘tailored, flexible, and future-proof solutions’. Using its Dräger Design Centre 3D rendering software and expert knowledge of clinical environments,

of products – including wall and ceiling supply units, workstation components, surgical lights with HD cameras, and examination lights – we ensure that workplaces are designed with customised solutions that support all customer needs and clinical specifications.
Dräger Medical works with customers to define their needs and determine how it can help with new workplace planning projects ‘to create the ultimate healing environment’. It said: “With a broad range
“At Healthcare Estates 2021, we will launch our new ceiling supply unit range. These new pendants are sure to transform your working environment, creating an ergonomically optimised workflow for clinicians, and a supportive patient healing environment.”
