Sweetch acquires R&D outfit Laboratoire Greenpharma

French cosmetic ingredients maker Sweetch has acquired compatriots Laboratoire Greenpharma, an R&D specialist in natural active ingredients, phytochemistry and green extraction technologies. Orléans-based Laboratoire

Greenpharma’s capabilities will be integrated into Sweetch’s R&D pipeline to accelerate the development of new cosmetic actives and strengthen scientific substantiation and claims support. Sweetch said the acquisition

would strengthen its position in the global cosmetic ingredient market by expanding its active ingredients portfolio and reinforcing its end-to- end innovation capabilities, from ingredient discovery to objectivated performance and responsible sourcing. By combining its expertise in

microbiome technologies, delivery systems, and sustainable formulation with Greenpharma’s advanced scientific infrastructure, Sweetch aims to provide cosmetic brands with accelerated access to validated, high- performance natural ingredients.

CEO Cyril Gallardo said

Greenpharma immediately enhances Sweetch’s innovation ecosystem. “The chemoinformatic platform

and extensive proprietary database allow unequalled ingredient selection and accelerated development,” he added. “These unique tools, combined

with state-of-the-art extraction technologies, including supercritical CO2

, a sophisticated analytical

laboratory, and green chemistry capabilities, form an outstanding, industry-leading innovation ecosystem.” French private equity outfit Ekkio

Capital established Sweetch in July 2024 via a trio of acquisitions. Dutch skin microbiota specialist

Gobiotics, French delivery systems maker Creathes, and CreaChem, a

Belgian producer of saccharides from chicory roots, beet roots and rice, united under the Sweetch umbrella. From the perspective of

Laboratoire Greenpharma, the acquisition reflects strong alignment in values and long-term vision. “The values of both companies

are aligned in terms of human and scientific values. We have a complementary catalogue considering products and services. That is why synergies will be present at different levels,” said Philippe Bernard, founder of Laboratoire Greenpharma. “Furthermore, we will gain

increased visibility both locally and internationally. The group will acquire the momentum to face the challenges of the cosmetic industry of the future.” Laboratoire Greenpharma will bring its scientific and technical expertise in natural products, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as integrated AI in the R&D process, added Bernard. The financial terms of the

acquisition were not disclosed. Canada’s New Directions Aromatics buys US-based AFI

executive officer Yann Lissillour, Zubb is the Paris-based company’s first regional vice-presidency. As vice-president Americas, Zubb

will oversee all regional operations, ensuring strategic alignment, integration of recent acquisitions, and strengthened collaboration with suppliers and customers across the continents. Zubb holds a Bachelor of Science
