Welcome to the February issue of Personal Care Magazine.

This edition features our

annual Chinese language section, which coincides with the forthcoming Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) trade

show, which takes place at the brand new Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18-20 March. While PCHi traditionally alternates between

the Yangtze River Delta (i.e. Shanghai) and Pearl River Delta (i.e. Guangzhou) regions, this will be the first convening in the event’s 21-year history in Hangzhou, which is renowned as one of the most pretty cities in China. Hangzhou is home to Proya Cosmetics, China’s

biggest beauty brand and a prominent participant at recent industry events as it looks to boost global expansion. It will be interesting to see if the event returns to

Shanghai or stays in Hangzhou in later years. Also in this issue, there is an interview – in

English - with Sungho Lee (see page 15), the President and CEO of Korean cosmetic raw material manufacturer Sunjin Beauty Science. Sungho explains how he was a reticent entrant

into the wonderful world of cosmetic science in the late 1990s. This was a time when the dotcom boom had yet

to burst and Korea’s brightest and best wanted to work in IT. Bowing to family pressure, Sungho reluctantly

left LG-EDS Systems but a turnaround soon followed and he eventually took over the reins at Sunjin in 2006. In this interview, Sungho, one of the Personal

Care Magazine-backed 9 Faces of APAC Beauty at in-cosmetics Asia 2025, reflects on his 20 years at the top. Elsewhere in this issue, technical features in

the English language section include contributions from Brazilian personal care active ingredient manufacturer Chemyunion; Rhode Island, USA- headquartered Bradford; Swiss active ingredient maker Lipoid Kosmetik and Spanish personal care ingredients maker Special Chemicals. Enjoy the magazine.
