based on the ratio of one slot per 1,000 inhabitants in a single county. Any unlawful operation of slots can carry a fine of up to PLN100,000 per machine. All visitors to arcades (likewise to casinos and bingo halls) must register their identity. Slots pay 50 per cent tax on their net revenue.
Tere are now around 40 to 50 gaming arcades open. Te gambling arcades were launched as part of a pilot programme. Tey recently signed a contract with EGM for gaming machines and already offer Merkur slots with discussions with other suppliers underway.
Te slot halls are open to over 18s and there are strict rules including marking the halls with only the name ‘Salon Gier na Slotach’ plus information on risk levels with games.
