Now that you have settled into the CEO chair, what do you think of the cleaning


industry? I think this is a very interesting business; at first I felt that it wasn’t exactly a ‘sexy’ business I have to say, but after coming into it I can see how diverse a sector it really is. There are a lot of different customers; from the very big, brand-focussed professionals, to the smaller family-run partners, but then also industrial cleaners too, where our machines are the core of their business. After taking over the role of Chief Executive Officer for Nilfisk in January, this was the first trade show for Jonas Persson, and what a way to start! We caught up with him mid-event for a Q&A on cleaning.

What have you found to be the most intriguing aspect of


the sector so far? I think it’s been getting to grips with the customer base and understanding what is different for each one of them. I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to understand this, and thinking of how best we can differentiate ourselves from competitors. You can see here at the show when you walk around that there are a lot of smaller competitors, that’s what struck me the most. I knew before I had


walked around that there were a lot of companies, but actually seeing so many brands that I don’t recognise yet who have a similar range of products, was really quite overwhelming.


Do you have a favourite area within the company which you’ve started to put your


name to? No, of course I cannot say! I think we’re operating in too many areas for me to pick a specific one. We have the floorcare machines, the high-pressure machines, the industrial vacs and so on, but I think all of them are interesting in
