Others Throw In The Towel, We Clean It
Ideal Manufacturing have been hard at work on their new Periodic Table of Laundry, and they can’t wait to tell us what other developments are going on at HQ to stay ahead of their competitors.
Ideal was founded by Dr Mike Kalli in 1980, to provide high quality British-made detergents to boost commercial laundry plant efficiency. Dr Kalli’s boundless enthusiasm to resolve problems meant that he wouldn’t be confined to a lab for long, and he took an active interest in the issues faced by commercial laundries – the best way to tackle problems was to get out there and see them firsthand. That way, he was able to create a range of products that really performed.
This firsthand involvement has taught us a lot about commercial laundry, and we constantly strive to inject new ideas with respect to processing methods and problem resolution. Where many other British manufacturers have come and gone, Ideal is proud to have become the largest independent manufacturing supplier of laundry chemicals in the UK, enjoying healthy growth at home and across Europe, the

Middle East and beyond. As one of the few independent British companies still manufacturing in the UK, it’s great that the importance of British manufacturing is being recognised. We recently signed up to show our support for the ‘Made In Britain’ campaign – a scheme which enables customers to identify British-made products.
The Next Generation We have a great team, and we're solving problems together are trying to build something good. It’s fantastic to be producing products that we can be really proud of, right here in the UK. Most importantly, we make sure that we enjoy what we do; when I joined Ideal in 2009, I became part of a close-knit team of experienced staff, many of whom had been with Ideal for much more than a decade.
Whilst other companies were throwing in the towel, or selling- up to competitors, Ideal had been
continuing to create, develop and improve products and processes. Meeting and talking to customers for the first time, it was clear that Ideal could be proud of a reputation for excellent products, technical expertise and great value. There was definitely a good story to tell, we just hadn’t been telling it.
A Touch Of Chemistry To make it easier for our commercial laundry customers to view our comprehensive range of specialist laundry chemicals, we’ve just finished revising the 2014 edition of the Ideal Periodic Table of Laundry, which now features 101 elements, with every chemical for professional laundry and textile care – all of them formulated and manufactured by Ideal in the UK. We’re excited about the new edition of the table, which includes exciting new developments such as:
