The Art Of Airflow One of the stands which really stood out to me at the show was the Airdri stand, and their ingenious theme of the Art of Airflow. Following the release of their next generation of dryers, they released a competition relating to the fusion of art with engineering, in order to promote their Quiet Mark campaign.
To accompany their new website and their inclusion of spots and bubble images to depict the physical flow of air, the team decided that a stand illustration was the only way to continue the hard work. “We decided to theme the whole show,” commented Trudi Osborne, Marketing and Communications Manager for Airdri, “so we called it the Art of Airflow. As a result of that, we decided to create a competition to drive people to the stand – these are new dryers that we’ve wrapped in artworks and people can guess the artist of from a multiple choice selection – they’re terribly easy, it’s just a bit of fun to push what we are committed to! Then people can be entered into a free prize draw for an iPad air, which of course ties in with the whole theme.”
Underneath the fancy stand props (and delicious cake they had to

celebrate their anniversary), there was a very serious message. Trudi continued: “We acquired the Quiet Mark for two out of the existing four hand dryers we do. The accreditation from the UK Noise Abatement Society is a personal point of pride for us – they want companies to try and manufacture electrical goods that we use in our everyday lives but quieter. These two new dryers, because they are next generation, are considerably quieter.
“It’s fast, but it’s very quiet for a hand dryer – we want to demonstrate
how truly committed we are to manufacturing our products for a Quiet Mark accreditation, no matter how much faster they get, so that we can promote ourselves as determined supporters.” Walking into Hall 10, this was the first thing I saw and felt compelled to go and visit. I loved the incorporation of art into science and it is truly refreshing to see creativity displayed in this way. As the cleaning industry is a sector which prides itself on innovation, I felt this was tapping into a new area of promotion – they certainly have my support!
