The complete range of Telstar’s biological safety cabinets - Bio II Advance Plus and BiOptima - incorporates ZEROCOAT, a new antimicrobial bacteriological barrier, as a standard treatment applied in the work area. ZEROCOAT is a new photocatalytic treatment based on titanium dioxide which has been implemented by Telstar inside biological safety cabinets designed to operate with risk 1, 2 and 3 biological agents (viruses and bacteria or infectious material).

ZEROCOAT is the new treatment that provides a self-cleaning surface which breaks down organic matter when the light system is triggered. This activation, which can be either with white or ultraviolet light, makes organic matter oxidise naturally, safely and instantly at the molecular level. This provides it with particularly significant attributes in terms of bacterial protection, cleanliness and maintenance, durability and costs.

Existing antimicrobial coating systems for laboratory cabinets are composed of high levels of silver particles, which are applied exclusively to painted surfaces on the outside of the equipment. In contrast, the innovative ZEROCOAT treatment is incorporated on the inside of the cabin to fully protect the work surface and, among other variables, endows the stainless steel that surrounds the chamber`s interior with a high potential antimicrobial power.

The photocatalyst power of ZEROCOAT has been validated through an exhaustive battery of tests carried out in Telstar’s R&D department. The new treatment has been applied on different surfaces exposed to different types of light and wavelengths and the different organic compounds were subsequently checked for degradation. The results were then compared to tests carried out on untreated surfaces. In addition, the resistance of the new treatment to standard cleaning procedures in a cabinet and stability over a period of time has also been validated.

m360, the brand in charge of leading custom solutions and innovations from Memmert GmbH + Co KG, presents its latest answer to the modernisation and automation needs of research labs and commercial facilities.

The device is a unique variant of the standard Memmert constant chamber HPPeco series. It is a HPP450eco inside a Memmert climate chamber ICH housing. This is a one-of-a-kind product whose design, size, accessories, and abilities are separate from all other standard Memmert devices. The close collaboration with customers in building such devices from the ground up, aimed at solving specific questions, allow m360 to grow from project to project, each distinctive from the other.

In the case of the m360 constant climate chamber HPP450eco laboratory automation device, it comes with a universal holder for multiple test tubes, petri dishes, square bottles, and round bottles. The samples are transported by a collaborative robot (cobot) into and out of the working chamber of the HPP450eco. Inside, there is a 32-plate conveyor belt which ensures proper placement and movement of samples. The parameters within the control of the user are temperature, humidity, and light, with a wide colour spectrum of cold, warm, RGB and UV-A, to properly control and test samples. The user can monitor and control the process with a tablet.

The device seamlessly integrates into an existing laboratory ecosystem. The m360 team aims to solve the productivity of workplaces by allowing users to take on more creative tasks while the cobot and HPP450eco device manage the routine, monotonous operations. This premium device

ensures safety, reliability, long-lasting lifespan as well as robust, stainless steel build quality. More information online: ilmt.co/PL/oYK0

High-Throughput Autoclave Cuts Sterilisation Costs

Priorclave front-loading laboratory and research grade autoclaves offer exceptional reliability and unparalleled energy, water, and lifetime cost savings, and are one of the first to receive an ACT certificate that quantities its superb energy efficiency credentials.

The 320L model with its taller chamber profile than that found in most cylindrical machines can boost lab efficiency and low costs by sterilising larger bulky items as well as small and taller items in a single process. It is available in both the new BASE and SMART categories, incorporating more features as standard.

Introduction of the new categories by Priorclave simplifies the autoclave selection process, enabling customers to choose the best model for their needs. Typically, the BASE range covers ‘the basics’, media preparation, waste loads, and sterilising loose instruments, open containers, and labware. The SMART range is intended for industrial, research, and production labs and facilities with greater or more diverse needs. They adeptly handle standard tasks (e.g., media prep, waste loads, labware) but can also produce drier loads and more reliably handle complex loads that tend to trap air.

Priorclave purposefully designed the cylindrical chamber of this model with a taller profile than that found in most ‘cylindrical’ machines, a 630mm chamber, 1025mm deep and a low convenient loading height of just 725mm. Its impressive load capacity has proven to give lab equipment purchaser a strong viable alternative to large more costly rectangular chamber autoclaves.

The build quality of this 320L capacity front loading autoclave incorporate epoxy coated panels and frame members which are treated with an anti-bacterial agent. This is a highly effective and permanent treatment for lifelong control of harmful bacteria and protection against the threat of cross contamination. This tough special epoxy finish is proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E.coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and over 50 other species.
