The Twin Guard Dual Cooling System is newly designed to provide the highest level of security for valuable biological samples. Two individually controlled compressors provide a reliable and exceptionally stable -86°C ultra-low temperature environment. In the case of unexpected failure of one of the cooling units, the other circuit will maintain the freezer in the -70°C range, protecting samples until service can be arranged.
The industry’s first “ECO-mode” operation on the MDF-U700VX achieves approximately 15%* energy saving compared to a conventional model. In ECO mode, the microprocessor controller constantly monitors the load status on the freezer to optimise the operation on the two compressors to minimise energy use whilst protecting valuable samples.
The patented V.I.P. PLUS™ Vacuum Panel Composite Insulation, combines high-efficiency vacuum panels with conventional polyurethane structural foam and barrier
film into a high-tech wall assembly. This increases the interior volume (728 litres) within conventional dimensions offering more storage capacity per m2 of occupied floor space.
The new LCD display control panel is located at eye level for improved visibility and ease of use. A data log function stores recent operation data allowing the user to quickly check the freezer performance. This data can be directly downloaded to a PC via a optional data interface.

The MDF-C2156VAN is equipped with Sanyo developed third generation Vacuum Insulation Panels. This improved VIP insulation is extremely efficient and results in a -150°C freezer with a capacity of 150 world standard 2”boxes, the largest -150°C freezer in the world!
All the alarm functions, self-diagnostic notifications and a digital graph of temperature are available in the special designed LCD display. The blue display provides a clear image of the temperature and gives a notification in the case of abnormalities in temperature, ambient temperature, power supply etc.
Of course the MDF-C2156VAN is equipped with Sanyo’s Cool Safe compressors. These compressors achieve a 10% higher energy conservation and the aerodynamically designed and placed components in the refrigeration compartment provide superior airflow., making it possible to significantly reduce the stress to the freezer and contribute to excellent durability.

Innovative Cryopreservation No liquid Nitrogen Contact The Isothermal Concept
The sample storage area is cooled by a liquid nitrogen jacket, surrounding the stainless steel interior, and by nitrogen vapour entering the freezer from the jacket via directional vents. This patented technology provides exceptional temperature uniformity in the -190°C range, allowing the full freezer capacity to be used with confidence. The circulation of vapour within the freezer also results in less cold air loss during lid opening and improved visibility. This allows full-width lids to be used providing quick, unrestricted access to sample racks.
No Liquid Nitrogen Contact
With no liquid nitrogen in the storage area, samples can be stored safely in the -190°C range without the risk of cross-contamination through liquid nitrogen. The Isothermal design also provides added user safety with no splashing or contact of liquid nitrogen when removing racks and samples from the freezer. Automatic Operation
Isothermal Freezers feature the Series 2301 Auto-fill and Monitor System, which controls the automatic filling of the liquid nitrogen jacket and provides the user with an easy to read overview of the freezer temperature and status. A comprehensive alarm system with remote alarm contact constantly monitors all aspects of the freezer’s operation. Samples are also protected by lid and control panel locks. The freezer can be monitored by a central BMS or monitoring system.
