The Leadership Centre


The Leadership Centre was designed specifically to resemble a boardroom that could be found anywhere in the world. The aim of having a room like this is to expose girls and young women to a boardroom setting from a young age. By holding meetings, classes, presentations and interviews in this room, BHS hopes to demystify the “fear” young women may have of a boardroom as a “men’s club”, and ensure that it is a space where they feel comfortable and empowered to use their voices. The Leadership Centre is named after Gladys Misick Morrell and Doris Trott Butterfield, both prominent Bermuda suffragists and BHS alumnae, whose legacy can remind and inspire future generations of female leadership in Bermuda and across the globe.
