From Facetime to face-to-face
Meeting and events spaces in demand at The Source
Zoom and Teams kept businesses, staff and customers connected through-out the lockdowns. But as the UK heads closer to a full lifting of restrictions, demand is surging for safe face-to-face meeting places.
Leading Sheffield training and skills academy, The Source, is perfectly placed to provide COVID- safe spaces for a vast range of business needs. The not-for-profit organisation has a prime location next to Meadowhall Shopping Centre close to the M1 and is within minutes of Sheffield city centre.
The Source has 25 meeting and training rooms available for hire, ranging from small spaces suitable for interviews, up to a 150-seater conferencing space which can be set up in layouts ranging from theatre-style to boardroom or classroom. Its facilities are world- class and can be hired daily, as well as on a long or short-term basis. “Businesses know the value that comes from meeting clients or staff face-to-face and are keen for it to return. A huge amount of expertise has gone into ensuring people are safe from viral transmission throughout our building. We have already received a flood of bookings and anticipate a very busy time in coming months,” said Eddie Hoyland, business development assistant.
Industrial recruitment agency, Single Resource, has been booking meeting rooms regularly with The Source since May. Their senior account manager, Louise Bratley, said: “The Source has an excellent location with good transport links. We use its spaces for our recruitment sessions with South Yorkshire people unable to travel to our base in Worksop. “We have received five-star service. The clean, high spec rooms are perfect for interviewing and training our new colleagues, staff are friendly and helpful, and we will continue to use The Source throughout the year.”
Throughout the pandemic, The Source team have strived to ensure anyone who uses the facilities has complete peace of mind.

Facilities manager, Greg Sutcliffe, is responsible for all COVID-19 health and safety compliance throughout the building. Measures include on-site lateral flow tests, temperature-checking, socially distanced room layouts and one- way systems. A catering menu features three price levels plus dietary options and food comes in individual ‘grab and go’ boxes for safety.
