Hold memories close to your heart forever
When our loved ones are sadly no longer with us, more people are choosing to have a precious dedication to them in the form of memorial jewellery using cremation ashes.
At Infinity Jewellers in Bramley, Rotherham, their service is truly personal and meaningful. Everything is done on-site, so you don’t have to worry about posting the ashes away to an anonymous jeweller in a production line.
The process is very interactive, and Jonathan invites all his customers to be part of every aspect, from designing or choosing the piece of jewellery that’s perfect for them, to watching as he delicately adds the ashes to the glass-like resin. You can even combine ashes into their A Ring is Reborn™ service. This is where old gold or jewellery is used to create a new, modern piece designed just for you. Jonathan never recreates the same design twice so your new jewellery will be completely unique and personal to you.
Laura’s story
When Laura’s nan passed away in November 2018, she wanted a piece of jewellery that could incorporate
some of the ashes.
But after searching the internet, Laura was a little apprehensive about the thought of posting the ashes off in an envelope – and
Before ring off.”
Laura’s new ring also has a secret compartment to hold her nan’s ashes. The ashes were mixed with resin, which Laura was able to witness first-hand.
After
“Nan would have loved the idea of us sat having a beer, laughing and crying whilst Jonathan added the ashes. She loved to travel so I think she would like the idea that a part of her is always there with me on my hand wherever I go.”
Barbara’s story
dubious as to whether her nan’s ashes would even be used. Then she saw on social media that a friend had been to Infinity Jewellers and had a memorial ring made. Better still, this shop was in her hometown.
“I wasn’t 100 percent sure what I really wanted as I’d only seen the standard jewellery items that online companies offered. But I’d inherited my nan’s rings and Jonathan said we could use the gold to create something just for me. He did some sketches and was really patient with me as I changed my mind a lot. “Initially I wanted two plain gold bands, but I felt like something was missing. The diamonds from my nan’s ring wouldn’t work so Jonathan sourced one that was still within my budget. He then suggested the brush effect which was something I’d never have thought of and really finishes the
Barbara and her husband John were married for 54 years, so when he sadly passed away
she wanted a special way to remember the love of her life. John had two rings which Barbara was undecided what to do with. She wanted to give one each to her son Neil and daughter Linda. But Linda had read about Infinity Jewellers in Aroundtown and suggested her mum could turn John’s gold bands into something new with their Ring is Reborn™ service.
John had bought Barbara a ring for her 40th birthday which no longer fit, so this was also added to the melting pot with her husband’s wedding band.
“I didn’t want anything fancy and Jonathan has designed and made me a ring that is exactly what I wanted. I’ve not taken it off since I put it on in the shop. When anything happens to me, Linda will have a ring that symbolises both me and her dad.”
As well as the ring, Jonathan
also helped Barbara choose a gold locket from their memorial collection that she could add John’s ashes into.
“My husband was a big
Rotherham United fan so Jonathan suggested I have red resin to mix the ashes into. He said I could take the ashes home and come back and watch when it was time to do it, but I trusted him fully so knew the ashes would be safe with him over the weekend. Jonathan is such a special man; if it had been anyone else I wouldn’t have left them there.”
