Ruby anniversary for Barnsley’s Kington Jewellers
Family-run jewellers, Kingston Jewellers, are celebrating 40 years in business on Barnsley’s Victorian Arcade.
Kingston Jewellers was established in July 1981 by Peter Kingston, a retired colonel from the Parachute Regiment, who was looking for a quieter second career. With his wife and two daughters, Sara and Sally, the family trained as jewellers and have spent the last 40 years providing beautiful jewellery at reasonable prices along with a top- class service. Ten years ago, Mr and Mrs Kingston retired, handing over the reins to Sara who is supported by manageress of 26 years, Debbie. Their sparkling collection includes everything from engagement and wedding rings to children’s jewellery and watches.
Over the last four decades, jewellery fashions have changed, with Kingston Jewllers working with their customers’ needs. When
they first opened in the early ‘80s, gold was at the height of jewellery fashions. Then came the rise of beads in the ‘90s and 2000s with popular brands such as Chamilia, Pandora, and Lovelinks leading jewellery sales. Today, their exclusive Danon jewellery range of pewter jewellery is a big hit with customers. Along with jewellery sales, Kingston Jewellers also have a repairs and alterations service at their local workshop and can carry out valuations on the premises. They even have a CAD design service, so if you have a favourite piece of jewellery you have seen or designed, they can transform it for you into the real thing.
