Be One With Dog
Headed on a road trip to Asheville, North Carolina and of course we were taking Puck. We always try to bring Puck to as many dog-friendly places and hikes during our road trip. Since he recently turned 13, we needed an easier way to carry Puck dur- ing our hikes since it can be hard on his back. Puck is an IVDD (Intervertebral disk disease) survivor for over 5 years now. We did some research online and came across an IVDD safe dog carrier, called the Pup Traveler made by Ruff Rescue Gear. What we loved most about the dog carrier was that Puck was able to lay horizontally which supported his long body the whole length.
Unlike traditional small dog carriers, Pup Traveler is
ergonomic for both you and your pup. The carrier fits dogs up to 30 lbs and it fit Puck perfectly. We were able to put this on and off in less than 30 seconds. The adjustable hammock style let Puck sit snugly and safely. It is IVDD safe, and is known for protecting the spine and discs of the dog. The padded shoulder and back support was comfortable and
made it easy for Mike to carry Puck throughout multiple hikes while in Asheville. The straps easily adjust, giving you ergonomic support for easy carrying. The material is also breathable which prevented both Mike and Puck from overheating. The carrier is super compact which made it easy to travel with. It is the perfect dachshund carrier, built to withstand adventures with your pup. “Pup Traveler made it easy for our family to hike with Puck!
The harness is easy to wear, lightweight and supported Puck’s back so I could be hands-free. It was comfortable and avoided me from having to consistently pick up Puck throughout our hikes. I would highly recommend it for anyone that wants an easy way to carry your pup” said Mike.

The Betsy Hotel South Beach is a beachfront gem anchoring the quiet end of iconic Ocean Drive in Miami. Many of the 130 luxury rooms and suites include extra space with balconies overlooking the Art Deco district. Finished with marble bath- rooms, luxury furnishings, and walnut floors, the best part is that The Betsy is dog friendly. In fact, on arrival you’ll most likely be greeted by the hotel’s two CEOs (Canine Executive Officers) Golden Retrievers Betsy and Rosa. Dogs of all sizes are wel- come. They do have a one-time pet fee of $150, but rest well, knowing that 50 percent of the fee goes to Miami-Dade Animal Rescue and the SPCA in Zimbabwe, the childhood home of one of The Betsy’s owners, Lesley Goldwasser. Betsy and Rosa have their own beer, crafted by the hotel’s
culinary team in collaboration with the House of Motor Crafted Lifestyle, a Miami brewery. Betsy Rosa Draft Beer is a classic Austrian copper lager and served exclusively at The Betsy’ s Lobby Bar. At check-in with your dog, you will receive a complimentary
