website lists 201 things to do right on the 31 acre property, shared by two resorts, the Island Grand and RumFish Beach Resort. Magnificently situated on a wide stretch of award-winning beach, the area is known as the Sunset Capital of Florida. Between the two properties, there are seven heated pools, a 15,750 square foot floating ocean water park, 33,500 gallon aquar- ium, 565 beach cabanas (including three VIP cabanas with a personal server for food and beverage all day!), 11 hammocks, a KONK Kids Club with a ton of activities, two tennis courts, and 12 paddle boats. We opted for chillaxing on cabana
seating complete with cushion, towel and cover. Relaxing is something we normally don’t do. Even Sonny wanted to share some family time relaxing in the cabana with us, so we all got a good couple of hours of vitamin D in pure vacation mode. Craving a snack, we headed to
Salty’s Tiki Bar and Beach Lounge. The new lounge area extends onto the beach, so we were able to enjoy some live music and eat with our toes still in the sand. On our last night we ventured off-
property, just down the road about five miles to Pass-A-Grille to enjoy a cocktail at Grace Restaurant. The drinks are named after local area dogs. I had the pretty-in-pink “Molly and Lilly” and Walker sipped on the “D’Jango.” They were as delicious as they were beautiful. Sonny was super tired from the day so we didn’t stay for dinner, but had a chance to meet Chef Marlin and his partner Lisa before heading out. We plan to return when it’s just mommy and daddy. Our experience at TradeWinds
Island Resorts was wonderful. Having the dogs at night to snuggle with and keeping the family together on vacation is priceless. One doesn’t have to leave the

One of our family traditions is setting up the self timer for selfies. I forgot my tripod by accident, so I set the camera on some chairs for the first attempt. As a pet photographer, I will preach that this is definitely a challenge with two dogs and no person manning the squeaky at camera level. Hence the non-attention, but it’s just what we do. We enjoyed capturing a few photographs to keep the tradition going.
