With the pups’ orders in, we kicked off our dinner experience with sips of Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé, a white Burgundy and dips of their “Crabby Con Queso” a hot cheesy, tangy Crab & Corn dip served with tortilla chips. We followed up with bites of their “Coquille St. Jacques,” a pan seared jumbo sea scallop dish topped with a Shitake Mushroom Cream sauce that was to die for. Cafe Karibo is truly one of the best spots to take the whole family. Check out their Famous Veggie Burger. CafeKaribo.com

AMELIA RIVER CRUISES & CHARTERS Although Amelia Island has the best beaches to take the pups, we still wanted to grab some sites from the River. Sunday morning, we decided to book a two and a half hour riverboat tour to check out the waterways that surround Cumberland Island and the famous Dungeness mansion ruins. We boarded the boat and took off towards Beach Creek. On the tour we saw a beautiful view of Fort Clinch State Park, wild horses and dolphins. The tour guides gave an inform- ative narration of Amelia Island’s history. The pictures we took will forever be in the memory books. We didn’t take the pups on this cruise because of Kaya’s

arthritis, but we learned that well-behaved leashed pets are wel- come. This cruise definitely made the trip worthwhile and taught us so much about the history of this area. AmeliaRiverCruises.com

MARCHÉ BURETTE DELI We ended our the trip with a brunch visit to another one of the best restaurants for dog-friendly dining. Marché Burette located at The Shops of Omni Amelia Island (at the Omni Amelia Island Resort) is known as the “French-style market and deli of your dreams.” The setting was perfect, with a round table on the covered patio surrounded by live oaks and water bowls for the pups. We started our morning off with coffee and the Salmon Salad Nicoise. Loaded with cold smoked salmon, green beans, potato, kalamata olives, egg, tomato, capers and niçoise dressing this dish was amazing. Continued next pageg
