Residence Inn With Amelia Island being so dog friendly, there were several choices to accommodate the pups and baby Nina. We checked into the Residence Inn Amelia Island, a pet-friend- ly hotel with a delicious complimentary breakfast. The hotel is located on Sadler Road and just two blocks from Fernandina Beach. Our suite offered a full kitchen, a pull out couch for the pups and two separate rooms, each with their own bathroom. With the request for a pack and play crib for our little one, Then we discovered the

biggest bonus: the Nature Walk at Egans Creek Greenway. The pups enjoyed their morning walks on the trail with direct access behind the hotel off of Sadler Road. A sound sleep paired with a yummy breakfast followed by morning fitness on the trail is hard to beat.
FERNANDINA BEACH FARMERS MARKET On a Saturday after breakfast we took a short drive downtown to the popular Fernandina Farmers Market on 7th street to check out the local scene. We parked and unloaded the pups and the baby stroller onto a side road packed with canopy tents where local artisans, farmers and makers joined together to sell their wares. Live music with sounds of the Roaring 20s played as we talked with vendors and bought some snacks. Between the samples of local Elderberry Syrup and the homemade Guacamole, our taste buds were spinning.

CAFE KARIBO We like to think of ourselves as foodies. I guess because we love to eat, but mainly because we love to find restaurants that really capture flavor and offer fun vibes. We searched for the best dog-friendly restau- rants, and we came across Cafe Karibo. Known for dishes that explode with flavor and offer the freshest of local ingredients,
we reserved a table on the patio. Immediately welcomed with smiles and water for the dogs, we knew we were off to a great start. Our waiter, Chris, was full of energy and offered the best suggestions to start us off on the right path. He began by offer- ing us the option to order for the pups. Lit up with excitement and surprise. we asked what was on their menu. He suggested a non-seasoned, grilled burger patty and chicken breast (normally an add-on food charge of $6 per item) for the pups. Chris told us that it’s a common practice for pets to dine at the cafe.
