Grooming Tool Guide
The slicker brush is a great all- rounder and is suitable for most coat types. Look for softer slickers for lighter coats and firmer ones for wool and thicker coats. Use a comb to check for any tangles that might have been missed.
A pin brush is great for long, single coats;
Whereas a curry brush is often the best choice for short coats.
An undercoat rake is an absolute must for double-coated dogs.
To deal with excess shedding, choose a tool with the right teeth for the job. A tool like this Coat King is great for heavy coats.
Alternatively, a tool like a Furminator is more effective on flat coats.
A hand-stripping knife is a tool to help remove molting hair from wire coats. If you’re not sure if this is the right tool for your dog’s coat, ask your groomer for advice.
