Sefton, aged 6 - Eco council Sefton is a member of the school’s Eco Council. He said: “Every half term we have a meeting, with one person from each year group. My mum Anne-Marie (also the school cook) and Ms Baskerville help run it too. We’ve made an action plan to make the school more eco friendly and reduce waste. “We’ve planted seeds to help get more butterflies and bees; looked at lunchboxes to recycle more things like tin foil and plastics, and took out all the crisp packets and sent them off to be recycled; and asked everyone to use less plastic.” The school has received an Eco-School Bronze award for forming the council, creating an action plan, auditing the school’s eco status and having regular meetings and is working towards the silver award with its action plan targeting litter, biodiversity and protecting marine life.
