56 PROFILES Strathallan School

Located in 153 acres of beautiful rural Perthshire in Scotland, Strathallan has been providing an exceptional education since 1913. With an ethos based on its motto of providing Opportunities for all to Excel, Strathallan welcomes pupils with a desire to achieve their personal best whether that be academically, in the arts, in sports or in co-curricular activities.

Over 60% of `pupil’s board, 85% of staff also live on site and day pupils also stay in houses until the early evening. The result is a strong, supportive and extremely friendly community of pupils and teachers with mutual respect and a solid framework of values.

Strathallan develops and encourages every pupil to find their individual passions and celebrates its diverse community of interest and individual successes. 61% of pupils take an active part in music right through the School. Many have individual music lessons and we are proud of our 26 music ensembles and three pipe bands. There are more than 60 performance opportunities every year. In 2018 the Pipe Band performed at Hampden for the Scottish Football International Matches. 10% of students represent Scotland or Great Britain in 13 different sports. Academically pupils achieve excellent results and go on to study at universities across the UK and abroad.

The school has continually invested in new facilities and boasts everything from a golf course to a clay pigeon shooting range and canoe slalom lake on site; pupils thrive on the fresh air, open space and safe environment. Rural but not remote, they also enjoy the historic and vibrant cities of Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow which are within a short drive.

Strathallan provides a safe, healthy and supportive

environment, outstanding facilities, and passionate teaching and pastoral staff. It is a school where every pupil will be encouraged to achieve, to explore the co-curricular opportunities available (over 85) to discover a love of learning and to go out into the world as confident individuals well equipped to succeed in their chosen path.

My three children are all very different and each one of them flourished at Strathallan. - Parent testimonial
