Cargilfield WHERE LEARNING IS AN EVERYDAY ADVENTURE
Cargilfield is the oldest independent boarding and day prep school in Scotland, for more than 300 girls and boys, aged 3-13 years. Each child has an extensive range of opportunities to learn, explore and discover before they leave Cargilfield to join leading senior schools across the UK. Children leave with confident, lively minds, secure values and a sense of identity and community spirit that serves them well for their future lives. This is achieved by delivering a broad and challenging education in a supportive and caring family-led environment. As a small prep school your child can feel secure and valued within our community. We get to know our pupils well so that we can guide them towards a senior school that will best suit their needs and reflect your priorities for their education. This year will see pupils leaving to 19 different schools with many children winning scholarships for their achievements academically or in sport, music, art and drama.
Small classes, good teaching and high expectations give rise to impressive standards in a range of abilities.
In addition, a broad curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom, will develop your child’s all-round abilities. Girls and boys play sport every day from age 8 onwards and are offered regular opportunities in music, art, design and drama. This is supported by over 40 different weekly clubs, looking to inspire new talents and a wide range of interests. A longer day means more lesson and activity time but no homework for our older children. As your child grows through the school, there are opportunities to challenge them further with evening activities, boarding on a weekly or flexible basis or joining us on weekend camps or school-based activity weekends.
It would be our pleasure to welcome you to our school at any time, to arrange a visit or find out more please call 0131 336 2207. Our Open Morning is Friday 4th October 2019. Visit
