PORTOBELLO MUSIC SCHOOL
Portobello Music School is delighted to be in its 14th year with over 350 students from babies to teens attending its Saturday music classes. Children up to primary 2 age attend a series of progressive creative music classes which prepare them for group instrumental lessons starting in primary 3. Children can choose from a wide range of instruments including: flute, clarinet, violin, cello, guitar, piano and drums, taught by an enthusiastic team of highly experienced music teachers. As well as receiving instrumental tuition, children also attend weekly musicianship classes which develop essential aural skills and music theory. We provide these classes from primary 3 to primary 7 after which time children can either continue with us having individual lessons or we can prepare them to study part-time at the junior departments of Edinburgh Napier University or the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Some children have also gone on to study full-time at Edinburgh Music School and the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School.

YOURGP: PUTTING YOUR FAMILY’S HEALTH FIRST
Modern family life can be a juggling act. Sometimes even the school run requires nothing less than a military operation. Even those who have got their routine down to a fine art can still be thrown off when a family member gets sick. So if you need a little help getting your loved ones’ health back on track, turn to a medical practice that puts your family first. YourGP is a private medical practice based in Edinburgh’s Dean Village. The team of experienced healthcare professionals understand that for any parent, there’s no greater worry than that concerning their child’s health, and that having to wait for an appointment can often exacerbate the problem for all concerned. That’s why YourGP offers short-notice, same-day appointments. In fact, the practice is open six days a week with extended opening hours so you can choose to be seen at a time that works best for you and your family.
YourGP also offers longer consultation times so you can discuss any health concerns in full and enjoy the peace of mind that comes from knowing your GP has a thorough understanding of the issue.
And that’s not all YourGP does
differently. The practice offers the full range of routine childhood immunisations, plus the chicken pox vaccine which is currently not provided as standard by the NHS.
What’s more, YourGP is one of the only practices in Scotland that offers the skin prick allergy test. With a fast turnaround of results, you can get the answers you need in no time. YourGP aims to make things as easy as possible, so you can carry on juggling modern family life with one less thing to worry about. YourGP, Waterside House, 19 Hawthornbank Lane, Edinburgh, EH4 3BH.
