George Watson’s College A WORLD-CLASS EDUCATION FROM PRESCHOOL TO SENIOR 6

George Watson’s College provides a world-class education for children and young people from Preschool to S6. We encourage our pupils to develop a real love of learning through an inspiring curriculum and an extensive enrichment programme. We challenge and support our pupils to discover their own limitless potential. We nurture the knowledge,

skills and confidence they will need to become engaged and successful citizens and make their own unique contribution to the world. We are proud of our heritage and passionate about our plans for the future. Our Preschool, Junior and Senior pupils all learn and play on the same campus where our sports facilities, music school, art department, technology building and drama studios are within walking distance.

In August 2019 we will unveil a new look for our Junior School, following the completion of the first phase of a £7m development. Our Upper Primary has been extended to include five new classrooms, a stunning new music suite, brand new library and performance spaces.

We provide excellent IT facilities, the latest technology and the option for senior pupils to bring their own device. There are a number of outdoor learning opportunities and educational visits to national and international destinations. Watson’s is also one of only a few schools in Scotland that offers pupils the opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate.

In 2018 our pupils celebrated some of our school’s best ever exam results. We are proud that pupils recorded a 100% pass rate in 25 out of all 30 subjects in which they sat exams. These impressive results are underpinned by our open presentation policy, which means that our pupils are never prevented from taking examinations for fear of affecting performance statistics. We offer a number of bursaries, scholarships and financial assistance packages to widen access to the school with the Foundation Places Programme.
