Jim Clark’s Portrait Unveiling at Clifton Hall

At a special ceremony, Clifton Hall’s Headmaster Rod Grant met with former pupil Jim Clark’s cousin, Doug Niven, to unveil a specially painted portrait of the 1963 and 1965 World Formula 1 Racing Champion. Painted by local artist Dave Miles, the unveiling took place in the school’s front hall and was attended by the school’s Prefect body and members of staff.

The group were treated to a talk by Doug Niven who enthralled the audience with the story of Jim’s racing life. Afterwards, the school was presented with a biography of its former pupil and the portrait itself will now go on permanent display.

Pictured are Poppy Jones, Mr Doug Niven, Mr Dave Miles, Mr Rod Grant, Evie Walker.
