statesmen of Southern Rock and he fills that role very well. When you have the caliber of musicians like Rick Willis, Chris Hicks, BB Borden, Marcus Henderson and new comer Tony Black it could be a stage full of egos, but what you find is a stage that welcomes all pickers to join in and experience the thrill of a life time by jamming with the legends of southern rock. It’s always a great time, and Tucker was joined by Donna Hall, Curt Towne and others during their set and again my only complaint is the set was too short to fit all the songs we all want to hear. Next up was the band I had been look-

ing forward to all day, Black Stone Cherry on the pool deck. I see a lot of shows and I love all kinds of music, so for me to be blown away is a rare thing indeed. The band took the stage and set it on fire and had the crowd in the palm of their hand right off the bat. I like to move around and watch each member of a band to see how they play and how the inter- act with the others players and the crowd, but with Cherry I never had to move as the band was never still and with the exception of John Fred Young the other guys played to the crowd and brought an energy and sound I had not heard before. It’s a little harder edge then a lot of southern rock which tends to sound more country then rock. The band’s sound has a flair of metal, but the stories of all great southern bands. The musicianship among the guys in this band is second to none and it left me wanting to first go out and buy every record they had ever made and then catch my next show ASAP! Blown away is an understatement. As my wife and I walked back to our room I told her I was in trouble to which she replied in a slight panic "Your sugar." I am a diabetic and she watches me pretty closely, but I replied, “no, I just found another band I love and have to see more of." She laughed and said she understood so they got the Miss Vicki's seal of approval as well. The best part is musical cruises is the being around so many like-minded people who, no

matter where they stand on politics or what race, religion, or country you are from, are brought together by the music we all love and for at least one week no one was fighting or mad at anyone. Day five was spent in Progreso, Mexico

with some fun on the beach and a little shop- ping. We got back on board in time all access interview with the Kentucky Headhunters. Again, I can’t stress how much fun these in- terviews were and I surely hope they are brought back next year. We hit the pool deck for a sail away

party with Black Stone Cherry. They started playing while we were still in port and an- other cruise ship was park beside us. As the band started to play the other ships deck got fuller and fuller with people enjoying a show and I can bet wish they had chosen our cruise over theirs. Tonight, was our night to see Marshall

Tucker in the early slot on the main stage and Doug and company did not disappoint. Doug is the greatest at making the crowd feel like they are part of the show and as I said before allowing musicians to live out a dream and sharing the stage with their musical heroes. I never grown tired of hearing Doug tell his sto- ries and hearing him belt out the songs I know and love. Never let them leave unhappy is the motto Doug and the guys, believe in and they never disappoint. Chris Hicks and Rick Willis are two of the finest guitar players making music today and the two of them on stage together is pure magic. We left just a little early to catch the

Bishop Gunn set. Bishop Gunn is a Bluesy Rock band formed in Mississippi with a debut release of their album Natchez in May of 2018. Great band with a unique sound very Delta blues meets Nashville. The main stage late show was Devon

Allman project with Duane Betts. I can’t stress enough how talented both of these men are in their own right and when they join forces on stage it’s just magical. This band
