Yellow Submarine (1968) Let it Be (1970) The Beatles movies were to- tally original. The first two followed the young pop group abound on tour as they made silly jokes and great music. Magical Mystery Tour signaled the infusion of drugs into the band, and Yellow Submarine was a colorful ani- mated classic. Like all Beatles movies, it was more a vehicle to deliver the music than any- thing else. Their final movie, Let it Be, was a true rock movie, a documentary about the making of their final album that they had hoped would bring them closer together but instead drove them further apart. 22. The Doors (1991) This excellent biopic starred Val Kilmer as the enigmatic Jim Mor- rison and remained true to the legend. Look for an appearance by Bonnie Bramlett. 21.
