Tedeschi Trucks Marcus King Band Augusta, GA March 1, 2019

notch, but they seem to always be in the same groove as Marcus. The music just flows, and when Marcus

turned around and gave his amp a big crank up I knew it was on. The level of respect be- tween Marcus and his band shows with every note and every solo played. Their command of the stage is so obvious with each passing show it just gets better and better. Marcus seems so at home and comfortable and with each new song, and his powerful singing and top flight songwriting talent shines through. You know you are doing something right when the headliner comes out to jam with you when you are opening the show. Marcus played a good mix of songs off his

Sometimes, the concert stars just line

up. When we first got the tickets for this show, the opening band had not been an- nounced. When we found out it was to be Marcus King, this show took on a whole new light. No two bands compliment one other like Marcus King and Tedeschi Trucks. The level of musical talent on stage with both bands is some of the best live music on the road today. Marcus is from Greenville, SC, where

we live so we have followed his career starting when he was a young man sitting in with his dads band. Marvin, Marcus' dad has been a local player in Greenville since the 80's and his father (Marcus’ grandfather) was a tal- ented musician in his own right. One of the guitars Marcus plays on stage once belonged to his Grandfather. Marcus is surrounded by talent at every position on stage and the guys sharing the stage with him are not only top

new record and some of his other songs we all know and love. Derek Trucks joined him on “Every Good Boy,” the first of many high- lights of the night. They can list this show as one band opening for the other but it to me was a double head liner show featuring two of the best bands playing music today. After a short break Derek, Susan and

company took the stage. It had only been a short time wince the passing of Kofi Bur-
