TEAM FOCUS: UNDER 11 COLTS
Under 11 Colts (2017/2018 Season)
Many thanks to the boys and their parents for both delivering and supporting our goal of development fi rst. Without the parents on board, I sympathise with any coach who has a demand to win consensus placed upon them. I am very fortunate that they all embrace what I try my best to achieve for their child – which is a total football understanding, broken down during training again and again.
The performances that the team has displayed this season have on many occasions been a joy to watch and I challenge anyone to see better football played at grassroots.
These little boys who are just 10 years of age have grasped the concept of playing the game how it should be played. Possession is key, without the ball nothing can be accomplished. Without the ball, an overlap or underlap cannot happen, nor a bounce pass, a ‘Pirlo’ or a long switch. I take my hat off to them as a team and on an individual basis as they have been fi rst class to teach and to coach.
They have performed to the highest standards expected, losing in a semi-fi nal at a National Tournament at St George’s Park, whilst playing

up a year. They have won many tournaments throughout last summer and also reached this year’s League Cup semi-fi nal, again playing up a year. And during all this, they have always played ‘football’ the way it should be played. They have put Broadstone FC out there as a club to be admired. I applaud them all!
